I’m delighted to confirm that, after a stop start season for various reasons in 23/24, I’ll be back hitting the wandering trail in 24/25. This season I’ll be continuing to cover random non league and grassroots football matches, concentrating on Tier 3 to Tier 7 in both men’s and women’s football and including regional feeder leagues, throughout the south of England (and possibly venturing a little further north on occasion!)
I’ll be picking one longer distance fixture each month in both men’s and women’s football, one week a month will entail travelling to a different league albeit more than likely a little closer to home and the rest of the time picking matches from a core of local men’s and women’s teams in my local area. Hopefully this will continue to provide a little more coverage for all teams visited teams by way of blogging about the club and including a match report on each game visited.
Some of the teams on my list of longer journey’s for this season includes:- Arundel, Coventry United, Holland FC, Downton, Minster, Peckham Town, Worcester City, Fareham Town and Montpelier Villa among others, in the men’s leagues.
From the women’s leagues I’m hoping to visit Selsey, Margate FC, Canterbury Eagles, Southampton, Sutton United, AFC Whyteleafe, Worcester City, Bemerton Heath Harlequins and Montpelier Villa at some point during 24/25.
We’ll see how many of the above list I’ll actually manage to get to!
This project, which has now reached its third season, has always been about rekindling my love of non league football. As I have surprisingly developed a decent following on social media, it would be nice to think I could do a little to help clubs, especially in women’s football, gain a little more coverage online.
For the time being the website is very much a work in progress. I’ll be adding many of my old blogs/reports from the last two seasons to the new website but as you can probably imagine, that will take some time! I’ll also be adding some blogs on the different charity walks I participate in.
