FAWNL Division One South West
Abingdon United 1 Bristol Rovers 4
Goals from Megan Jarvis with a top corner finish in the 17th minute and Daisy Ackerman just before the break gave Rovers a two goal cushion at half time. Olivia Smith pulled one back for the hosts seven minutes into the second half only for Nia Rees to net five minutes later to restore the visitors two goal advantage. Jarvis scored her second of the game in the 66th minute slotting home a loose ball in the area.
Bridgwater United 0 Swindon Town 4
Bridgwater fell to a heavy defeat at Fairfax Park with goals from Katie Sherwood, Sahara Osborne-Ricketts, Billie Haynes and Tori St Clair giving the visiting Robins a convincing win to keep them on the toes of AFC Bournemouth in the early league table.
Keynsham Town 5 Southampton 0
Southampton belatedly kicked off their 24/25 season with an away match at the AJN Stadium to play Keynsham Town with the game being switched from the Test Park Sports Ground. It wasn’t a happy debut though for the visitors with Keynsham scoring five times before half time through Ciera Lundy, Lily Withers and a quickfire treble from Naomi Clipston. The game was interrupted by spectacular thunder and lightning show with ten minutes to go and the visitors didn’t want to continue so the score line at the end stood to give the home side their first three points of the season.
Maidenhead United 2 Bournemouth Sports 1
An Emily Norfolk pass and finish from Macey-Nikiah Walters gave the hosts a lead after 14 minutes but the visitors were back in the game just before the break through a nice finish from Rosie Eden. A hard fought second half was won by the Magpies with two minutes left on the clock, a finish from substitute Katie Akerman giving them their first points of the season.
Moneyfields 1 AFC Bournemouth 2
Facing each other for the second time in a week these two sides produced another tight affair. Moneyfields opened the scoring after just two minutes, Shannon Albeury with the finish to put the Yellows ahead. The scoreline stayed the same until the last five minutes when Ellie Strippel levelled for the Cherries and to add a little more drama Lucy Cooper snatched the points in added time to keep Bournemouth’s 100% record intact.

North Leigh had possibly the most difficult tie on paper with the visit of an extremely strong Brentford side who finished runners-up in LSEWFL Division One and included Chloe Logie in their line up who scored over 50 goals last season, Despite battling gamely for the 90 minutes, they fell to an 18-1 defeat.
TVCWFL’s sole representatives in the second round will be Ashridge Park after their game with Banbury was called off with the away side unable to raise a team. The will face a trip to Newport Pagnell Town in the second qualifying round on the 22nd September.

Only one game in Division One this week and it was a tough one for hosts Yateley United with Oxford City taking the three points with an emphatic 6-0 away win. A hat-trick from Yasmin Edwards, a double from Erin Swanton and one from Anaya Grey gave the visitors the perfect start to the season.
Division Two
Just the one game in Division Two as well which saw East Oxford beat Didcot Town. Goals from Stephanie Culley and Poppy Jarvis gave the hosts a two goal lead before Enya Lee pulled one back for the visitors. With five minutes to go East Oxford made sure of the points through a Perri Termine finish.

The two games in Division Three South finished in away wins. Windsor & Eton hit five past Barton Rovers with a brace from Stevie Romney, Sophie Kinsman also getting a double and the fifth coming from Georgia Hill in a 5-1 win, Jasmine Lynch netting the Rovers goal.

The biggest win in the opening TVCWFL games came at Burghfield with the hosts helping themselves to an 8-2 victory over Newbury.
